Dr. Joy A. Duckett is a clinical psychologist with a 2011 degree from Chestnut Hill College. She specializes in treating behavioral issues like ADHD, ODD, conduct disorder, and emotional concerns such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Dr. Duckett also provides drug and alcohol counseling, marriage and family therapy, and premarital counseling. Using cognitive behavioral techniques, she helps clients change maladaptive thought patterns and behaviors. As a trained family therapist, she also considers the impact of family dynamics on individuals. While her approach is present-centered, Dr. Duckett supports clients in addressing unresolved issues from earlier life stages to break recurring patterns. She values the therapeutic relationship as key to fostering self-exploration, insight, and positive change.

Dr. Robin J. Charleston, Ph.D. is a licensed family psychologist with over 15 years of experience in individual, group, and family therapy. She earned her doctorate in 2009 from Seton Hall University and has since worked across diverse mental health settings, including residential treatment centers, outpatient agencies, and partial hospital programs. Dr. Charleston specializes in addressing emotional and behavioral challenges such as oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), conduct disorder, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other conditions that impact daily functioning. Drawing on family systems and cognitive-behavioral approaches, she helps clients explore family dynamics and early childhood experiences to gain insight into present difficulties. Dr. Charleston holds Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT), enabling her to provide high-quality care across state lines.

Deserie Thomas, LCSW-MSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker delivering over 20 years of experience working with a variety of clientele. As a clinician, she strives to create a safe space for clients to share and grow. Her experience includes counseling with children and families in the areas of mental health, and adolescents with behavior challenges, including student counseling (K-12), as well as counseling in private practice. Additionally, her personal experience includes working with clients who struggle to resolve trauma, grief/loss, relationship issues, substance abuse, anxiety and depression. Deserie believes that building a strong client/therapist relationship is vital, so as to engage clients as they work towards reaching wellness goals. Modalities often used are CBT, Solution Focused Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Integrative Therapy, all of which encourage and empower clients to utilize their own strengths to reach effective changes in their own lives.

  • How often should therapy sessions be scheduled?

    The frequency of therapy sessions depends on individual needs and goals. At Duckett & Charleston Psychological Associates, we usually recommend weekly sessions initially, allowing clients to build a rapport with their therapist and address issues effectively.   • Do you offer telehealth services?

    Yes. We offer secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth sessions for both therapy and evaluations. Our platform allows you to meet with your clinician from the comfort and privacy of your own home using a phone, tablet, or computer. Telehealth provides a convenient and flexible option while maintaining the same level of care and confidentiality as in-person sessions.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, will incur a $75 fee.

  • What are your out-of-pocket costs?

    * Initial therapy session: $200

    * Ongoing therapy sessions: $150

    * Evaluations: $500 – $2,500

  • Do you offer a sliding scale?

    Yes. We offer a limited sliding scale to help make our services more accessible. Reduced rates are based on financial need and availability, and can be discussed during the intake process.
